'First Person Revocation' is a three-volume sci-fi story set in California two hundred years in the future. It contains depictions of sex and nudity, drug use, strong language, violence and injury. It is similar in tone and content to Altered Carbon, Blade Runner, In The Shadow of The Moon and Anon.
Science has discovered how consciousness inhabits the human brain and a mechanism, Inter-Corporeal Shift (ICS), to temporarily switch consciousness between individuals. As its use began to grow however ICS became linked to an increased prevalence of psychoses. Industro-military funding is driving research to find preventative measures but ICS use within the general population is made Illegal and there are restrictions on its use in research. Its illicit use however continues.
The story follows a number of characters who through their differing involvement with ICS become aware of a serial killer who uses the tech to extend the scale of his activity. The impact this has on the lives of the characters and the subsequent challenges they face as they seek to bring him to justice are the story line for 'First Person Revocation.'

Volume 1, Las Mielitas Synopsis:
Life, everyone wanted more of it. Not just life though rather a life worth living and for that you needed a new body to live it through. Invariably this would be a younger one than that possessed by those aging but wealthy enough to afford a shot at the last flings of youth.
Advances in the now illegal Inter Corporeal Shift program provided the means but it was the sex workers, Las Mielitas, who met the corporeal element.
Drawn from the lower levels of society they traded on the only commodity they had to offer, their youth, bio-enhanced of course. They provided their bodies as temporary vessels through which their clients consciousness could experience whilst they themselves took up residence in their clients aging forms.
Ev and Michael had come up from the streets together, become Mielitas together, dodging psychiatric illness and questionable clients along the way.
They'd been with the Eros agency for five years. It was the high end of a market that had polished up its act but was still sordid at its core.
But what happens when repeated exposure to decrepitude becomes too much and the path out of the only life you know is fraught with danger?
One big job offers Ev and Michael a way out but the promise of life altering rewards carries the potential of life altering risk.
First Person Revocation, Vol 1; Las Mielitas launched via Kickstarter in October 2024.
